概述
UNS N08825 Tubing has a high chromium content which enables it to resist oxidizing substances, such as oxidizing salts, and nitric acids. Alloy 825 Welded Tubeis used for heat exchangers and condensers. They are either hot or cold finished. ASME Sb 163 UNS N08825 has titanium added to the alloy in trace amount this helps it to avoid intergranular corrosion.With a nickel content range between 38%–46%, this grade exhibits pronounced resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) induced by chlorides and alkalis. The chromium and molybdenum content also provides good pitting resistance in all environments except strongly oxidizing chloride solutions.
Utilized as an effective material in a wide variety of process environments, alloy 825 maintains good mechanical properties from cryogenic temperatures up to 1,000° F. Incoloy 825 Seamless Tubingis used in applications that handle radioactive waste, pickling operations, nuclear fuel reprocessing, oil and gas recovery, and acid production. ASTM B163 UNS N08825is also used in chemical processing and pollution control.
