Carpenter 20 B729 tubing manufactured to ASTM B729 specifications is typically supplied in a stabilized annealed condition. As one of the foremost manufacturers of alloy 20 welded tubing， we recommend that these tubes be used in applications that are susceptible to pitting and chloride corrosion. In fact， we strongly recommend the use of Alloy 20 tubing in areas where Grade 316 alloys are susceptible to stress-related corrosion cracking. The difference between alloy 20 and alloy 20cb3 tubes is that specified CB3 tubes have niobium added to their alloy to make them more stable.
