Description

ASTM A312 is a specification for seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel pipes that perform well in high temperature and corrosive environments.TP316 is derived from the classic "18-8" (TP304) stainless steel by adding molybdenum to enhance pitting resistance in chloride environments. TP316L is a low carbon version of TP316 where the low carbon content improves sensitization and thus welding corrosion resistance.

ASTM A312 TP316 and TP316L are designated as UNS S31600 and UNS S31603, respectively. Although the price is higher, pipes made of TP316/ TP316L have higher corrosion resistance than TP304/ TP304L. They can be used in a variety of corrosive chemical process pipes, including inks, rayon, photographic chemicals, paper, textiles, bleach and rubber.

These are highly resistant to chloride corrosion, so 316l stainless steel pipes are resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion even in chlorine-rich environments. Our stainless steel tube 316l seamless products can be used in Marine, Marine applications, seawater purification systems and wastewater management applications. Pipes have different schedules to accommodate different diameters and wall thicknesses. Stainless steel pipe 316l Schedule 40 is a medium range of pressure containment capacity, while stainless steel pipe 316l Schedule 10s wall thickness is relatively small. Our 316l schedule 40 pipe is one of the most used pipes in the oil and gas industry. Our electrically resistant welded SS 316l Erw tubes are stronger and have a longer service life. The advantage of 316l welded pipes is that they are easy to weld with or without the use of filler materials.
