STAINLESS STEEL A276 SS321 ROUND BAR POLISH SURFACE S32100 RODS
Abstract of A276
This specification covers hot-finished or cold-finished bars except bars for reforging. It includes rounds, squares, and hexagons, and hot-rolled or extruded shapes, such as angles, tees, and channels in the more commonly used types of stainless steels. The bars shall be furnished in one of the following conditions: Condition A in which the bars are annealed, Condition H in which the bars are hardened and tempered at a relative temperature, Condition T in which the bars are hardened and tempered at a relatively high temperature, Condition S in which the bars are strain hardened or relatively light cold worked, and Condition B in which the bars are relatively severe cold worked. The material shall be subjected to a mechanical test to determine its tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and Brinell hardness.
SS321 is a titanium stabilised chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel with good strength and excellent corrosion resistance, as supplied in the annealed condition with a typical brinell hardness of 175. Characterised by high corrosion resistance in general atmospheric corrosive environments it exhibits excellent resistance to most oxidizing agents, general foodstuffs, sterilizing solutions, dyestuffs, most organic chemicals plus a wide variety of inorganic chemicals, also hot petroleum gases, steam combustion gases, nitric acid, and to a lesser extent sulphuric acid. It displays good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and has excellent weldability.
Like SS304, SS321 bar is a stabilized stainless steel grade. SS321 welding rod offers excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion. The SS321 cold drawn bar also possesses good creep and high tensile strength. SS321 Forged Bar is tends to resist the formation of scales and maintains phase stability when exposed to aqueous medium. The alloy also is resistance to subsequent aqueous corrosion. Due to these improved mechanical as well as high corrosion resistance properties, SS321 round bar is often visible in applications in many equipment’s like exhaust stacks, Aircraft collector rings, carburetor air intensifier tubes, tubing, fasteners, flexible couplings, jet engine parts, exhaust manifolds, mufflers, pressure vessels, flexible metal hose and bellows.
