ASME SA-965/SA-965M: Specification for Austenitic Steel Forgings for Pressure and High-Temperature Parts (ASME BPVC.II.A-2023);

ASTM A182/A182M – 23: Standard Specification for Forged or Rolled Alloy and Stainless Steel Pipe Flanges, Forged Fittings and Valves and Parts for High Temperature Use;

Tube plates are mainly made of forged materials and are also widely used in heat exchangers and chemical vessels to support fixed tubes with high thermal conductivity. These pressure vessels are often called shell and tube heat exchangers and are the most commonly used heat exchangers in refineries and large chemical plants. The tube sheet itself is the supporting element of the heat exchanger and boiler. Tubesheets are so called because the tubes are carefully arranged in a specific pattern, penetrating the tubesheets in multiple places to allow fluid from these tubes to flow in and out of the heat exchanger. Fluid flowing through the tubes inside the shell exchanges heat with the fluid flowing into the shell, while fluid flowing outside the tubes exchanges heat with the fluid inside the tubes.
