Copper Nickel Alloy Low Finned Tube ASTM B111 UNS C70600 CuNi 90/10 for Shell Tube Heat Exhanger

This specification ASTM B111 establishes requirements for copper and various copper alloys seamless tubing and tubing tubing in a specified range of diameters for use in surface condensers, evaporators, and heat exchangers. The copper and copper alloys specified are UNS Nos. C10100, C10200, C10300, C10800, C12000, C12200, C14200, C19200, C23000, C28000, C44300, C44400, C44500, C60800, C61300, C61400, C68700, C70400, C70600, C70620, C71000, C71500, C71520, C71640, and C72200.The products shall be produced by casting, extruding, drawing, annealing, straightening, and trimming, and by any other process which will produce seamless tubes under specified conditions.

Copper and copper alloys shall be supplied in any of the following hardened states: annealed, lightly drawn, hard drawn or hard drawn and finally annealed. Tubing for ferrules shall be fully annealed to full crystallization. Stress relieving heat treatment is recommended for certain tubing after straightening.

Products should be tested for expansion, compression and residual stress. Tensile and expansion requirements for the product are specified according to the steel grade designation. Products shall also be subjected to mercury nitrite test, ammonia vapor test, eddy current test, hydrostatic test and pneumatic test.
