Overview
ASTM B729 specifications is typically supplied in a stable annealed condition. As one of the foremost manufacturers of Alloy 20 pipe, we recommend these pipes for those applications that are susceptible to pitting and chloride ion corrosion. In fact, we strongly recommend the use of Alloy 20 welded pipe in those areas where 316 grade alloys are susceptible to stress related corrosion cracking. The difference between Alloy 20 and Alloy 20cb3 pipe is that the CB3 designation has been made stable by the addition of niobium to its alloy.
The characteristics of ASTM B729 NO8020
Alloy 800 – The 800 series alloys (Incoloy 800, 800H and 800HT) are nickel-iron-chromium super alloys that provide high temperature strength and excellent resistance to oxidation, carburization and other types of high temperature corrosion. Alloys 800, 800H and 800HT are used in a variety of applications ranging from furnace components, petrochemical furnace cracking tubes to sheathing of electric heating elements.
