ASTM A790 S32205 1.4462 Duplex Steel Seamless And Welded Pipe
The specification A790 covers seamless and straight-seam welded ferritic/austenitic steel pipe for general corrosive service, with particular emphasis on resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The pipe shall be made by the seamless or an automatic welding process, with no addition of filler metal in the welding operation. Heat analysis shall be made to determine the percentages of the elements specified. Tension tests, hardening tests, flattening tests, hydrostatic tests and nondestructive electric tests shall be made to conform to the specified requirements.
Duplex Steel UNS S32205 Welded Pipe is manufactured with the best quality of alloy. Duplex steel alloy is having good corrosion and stability properties with the presence of good quality of the alloying elements in the alloy. It is the most popular grade of steel which is used in manufacturing the pipes and other industrial made applications. Petrochemical, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, and various other industries are there which are using various types of pipes in the applications and smooth working.
We are focused on meeting both your materials and supplier relationship needs. Our Duplex Steel UNS S32205 Welded Pipes have a smooth finish and strong mechanical traits, as well as closer tolerances than hot formed coil-based welded pipe.
Corronsion Resistance of S32205
.
Excellent general corrosion resistance; superior to Grade 316 in most environments. Excellent resistance to localised corrosion including intergranular, pitting and crevice corrosion; the CPT of 2205 is generally at least 35°C. The grade is also resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC) at temperatures of up to about 150°C. Grade 2205 will often perform well in environments which cause premature failure of austenitic grades. It has better resistance to sea water than grade 316.

Chemical Composition of S32205
Chemically, the composition of Duplex grade S32205 Stainless Steel Pipe contains elements such as carbon, manganese, phosphorus, nickel, chromium, copper, molybdenum, nitrogen, sulphur, silicon, and others in trace quantities. The three main alloying materials of all duplex grade stainless steel includes chromium, molybdenum, and nickel. These elements enhance the properties of this particular stainless steel grade.
