ASTM A790 UNS S31803 is a specification for duplex steel materials. The material is a steel alloy that contains chromium and molybdenum. The addition of these materials makes the pipe stronger and more resistant to corrosion. SA 790 UNS S31803 is one of the super duplex grades， offering higher strength and corrosion resistance. Duplex grades are divided into three groups namely Duplex， Lean and Super Duplex. Super Duplex is used for specific applications that operate at high temperatures. Duplex UNS S31803 pipe also has high strength due to the nature of production. The material can be hot rolled and welded or cold drawn. Cold drawn tubes are seamless and have less absolute roughness， which makes them dimensionally accurate. On the other hand， hot rolled and welded A928 UNS S31803 material is stronger and can be used in welding applications.
