ASTM A790 S31803 Duplex Seamless And Welded Pipe Corrosion Resistant
UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462 duplex stainless steel is designed to combine improved resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, crevice corrosion and high strength when compared with other stainless alloys.
These attributes mean that Duplex UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462 can be used successfully as an alternative to standard stainless steel specifications in applications where higher strength and resistance to stress corrosion cracking is required.

Duplex Stainless Steel Features
Duplex stainless steels have Austenitic and Ferritic stainless steel microstructure, and possess properties in two groups stainless steel, however, there are different.
Versus Austenitic
- Higher yield strength
- Greater corrosion resistance
- Stress corrosion cracking resistance
- Not common, used temperate under 250 C.
- Fabricability not good as Austenitic
- Strictly control heat treatment and welding process
- Price stability
Versus Ferritic
- Good toughness than Ferric, not hard
- Greater corrosion
- Fabricability is better
- Better weldability
- Wide usage than Ferritic
- Higher price
