The expansion of columbium also gives ASTM A403 superior corrosion resistance over A321. ASTM A403H is a higher carbon version of ASTM A403 with enhanced high temperature and creep properties.

ASTM A403 WP304-S 90 Deg. Elbow covers the standard for wrought austenitic stainless steel fittings for pressure piping applications. The material of pipe fittings shall include forgings， bars， plates or seamless or welded pipes. Forging or forming operations shall be performed by hammering， pressing， piercing， extruding， upsetting， rolling， bending， fusion welding， machining， or a combination of two or more of these operations. All accessories should be heat treated.

Chemical and product analysis should be performed and should meet the required chemical composition of carbon， manganese， phosphorus， sulfur， silicon， chromium， molybdenum and titanium. Tensile tests should be performed on fitting materials to determine tensile properties such as yield strength and tensile strength. Accessories supplied in accordance with this specification shall be visually inspected for surface discontinuities， surface inspections， and mechanical markings.
