ASTM A312 TP316L 1.4404 Stainless Steel Marine Application
ASTM A312 TP 316 / 316L Stainless Steel Pipes and Tubes is the low carbon version of 316 stainless. With the addition of molybdenum, the steel is popular for use in severe corrosion environments due to the materials immunity from boundary carbide precipitation (sensitisation).
The material is widely used in heavy gauge welded components and weld annealing is only required where the material is for use in high stress environments. 316L has an extensive variety of uses especially in marine applications due to the materials high corrosion resistance.
TONG CHUANG has been engaged in austenitic stainless steel, nickel alloy steel (Hastelloy, Monel, Inconel, Inconel) seamless and welded pipes for more than 25 years, with annual sales of more than 80,000 tons of steel pipes and tubes. The A312 TP316 Material has less absolute roughness and high toughness throughout various temperature ranges. The A312 Tp 316 Equivalent products are also manufactured by us.
But the 316 Stainless Steel Pipe can perform under cryogenic temperatures as well. The Stainless Steel 316 can also be welded with ease. The use of filler materials is also common.
