1.4835 Stainless Steel

UNS S30815 Stainless Steel

ASTM A312 253MA, UNS S30815, 1.4835 Stainless Steel

Characteristics: 253MA alloy has excellent oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance and heat resistance. It can withstand temperatures of up to 1150 ° C, while still maintaining high strength and toughness at high temperatures. In addition, it also has good weldability, processability and manufacturability. Therefore, it is widely used in the manufacture of nickel alloys and stainless steel under high temperature, corrosion and pressure environments.

Delivery status: The delivery status of 253MA alloy is usually divided into two types: bright and black. Among them, the bright state refers to the state of the surface after polishing and decontamination, while the black state refers to the state without surface treatment. The glossy state is usually applied in areas that require a high surface finish, such as ornamental surface decorations, while the black skin state is usually applied in areas that require further surface treatment, such as coating and spray painting.

Corrosion resistance and main use environment: 253MA is an alloy obtained by increasing nitrogen content and adding rare earth elements for micro-alloying on the basis of alloy 1.4828, which has good oxidation resistance, good resistance to high temperature corrosion and good high temperature mechanical strength. The most suitable use temperature range is 850-1100 ° C, if used in the range of 600 to 850 ° C, due to structural changes, will lead to a reduction in impact toughness at room temperature.

The chemical composition of 253MA is balanced, so that the steel has the most suitable comprehensive performance in the temperature range of 850℃-1100℃, extremely high oxidation resistance, and the oxidation skin temperature is as high as 1150℃; High creep resistance and creep fracture strength; It has good resistance to high temperature corrosion and brush corrosion resistance in most gas media. High yield strength and tensile strength at high temperature; Good formability and weldability, and adequate machinability.

In addition to alloying elements chromium and nickel, 253MA stainless steel also contains a small amount of Rare Earth Metals (REM), which significantly improves its oxidation resistance. Nitrogen is added to improve creep properties and make this steel fully austenitic. Despite the relatively low chromium and nickel content, this stainless steel in many cases has the same high temperature characteristics as highly alloyed alloy steels and nickel-based alloys.
