ASTM A249 TP316L Welded Tubes For Heat Exchanger

This specification covers nominal-wall-thickness welded tubes and heavily cold worked welded tubes made from the austenitic steels, with various grades intended for such use as boiler, superheater, heat exchanger, or condenser tubes.

The carbon content of TP316L stainless steel pipe is 0.03, which can be used for applications that cannot be annealed after welding and require corrosion resistance. TP316 stainless steel pipe also has good resistance to chloride corrosion, so it is usually used in marine environments. The corrosion resistance of TP316 stainless steel pipe is better than that of 304 stainless steel, and it has good corrosion resistance in the production process of pulp and paper.
