What Is ASTM A182 F304 ?
ASTM A182 F304 is the standard "18/8" stainless steel; it is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel, available in a wider range of products, forms and finishes than any other stainless steel. It has excellent forming and welding properties. The balanced austenitic structure of grade 304 allows it to be severely deep drawn without intermediate annealing, which makes this grade dominant in the manufacture of drawn stainless steel parts such as sinks, hollowware and cookware. For these applications it is common to use a special variant of "304DDQ" (deep drawn quality).
Grade 304 is easily braked or rolled into a variety of parts for applications in industry, construction and transport. grade 304 also has excellent welding properties. Post-weld annealing is not required when welding thin sections.
