ASME SB171 UNS C71500 CuNi 70/30 Baffle Plate, Transverse Baffle, Longitudinal Baffle
ASME SB171 UNS C71500(Cu Ni 70/30) Copper Nickel Alloy is a 70% copper-30% nickel alloy with additions of iron and manganese. These elemental additions make it more resistant to corrosion and erosion and with slightly improved strength level than CuNi 90/10, making it suitable for more harsh environments. UNS C71500 Copper Nickel Alloys have excellent resistance to biofouling and marine corrosion, and also have good fabricability. Copper has more strength and corrosion resistance due to the addition of nickel.
UNS C71500, Copper nickel 70/30, has good corrosion resistance, especially in sea water environments. The main, wrought copper-nickel alloys chosen for sea water service contain 10% or 30% nickel. They also have important additions of iron and manganese which are necessary to maintain great corrosion resistance.
ASME SB171 UNS C71500 Copper Nickel Alloy baffle plate is a plate which is used to restrain or regulate the flow of the fluid. Baffle plates are important components of shell and tube heat exchangers that are used to support and fix the tubes in a defined position. The main machining process for baffle plates is drilling.
