ASME SB171 C71500 Copper Nickel Alloy Tube Sheet for Heat Exchanger Application
What is specification ASME B171?
This specification establishes the requirements for copper-alloy plate, sheet, and circles cut from plate and sheet for pressure vessels, condensers, and heat exchangers. The following alloys are covered:
Copper Alloy Previously Used Designation
What is Tubesheet?
Tube sheets also named tube plate,it is one of the main components in a shell & tube heat exchanger.Tube plate have holes drilled to accept a series of tubes inside of an enclosed tubular pressure vessel. The tube sheet itself serves as a supporting element in heat exchangers and boilers. Tube sheets have different sizes and a series of holes are done to create a place where the tube ends are welded. Also called tube plate. There are two types: floating tube sheet and stationary tube sheet.
Depending on the tube bundle configuration, a heat exchanger can be equipped with one or two tube sheets.
These are usually made of copper brass or copper alloy plate, with a varying thickness based on the fluid pressure.
Depending on the final application (petrochemical, nuclear, oil&gas, etc.) the tube sheet can be cladded with Stainless Steel or other Super Alloys or even be entirely made out Stainless Steel or Superalloys.

What is C71500 Copper Usage?
C71500 is a metal alloy used for many applications. It combines superior corrosion resistance and strength, making it a great choice for manufacturing industries. DUE TO ITS HIGH WEAR RESISTANCE, Copper C715 has been used to manufacture automotive components such as brake pads, steering bowls, and engine blocks. In addition, it is widely used in the chemical industry for valve bodies and pumps to resist corrosion from harsh chemicals. Additionally, this material can be used in other applications, such as in electrical equipment, structural components and farming tools, because of its superior mechanical properties. With so much versatility, Copper C715 is an excellent option when selecting materials for various manufacturing uses and applications.
What is C71500 Corrosion Resistance?
Copper alloy C715 is an excellent material for areas of high corrosion risk due to its remarkable ability to withstand oxidation and the forces of nature, even in extreme weather conditions. Not only does it boast excellent mechanical properties, but it also displays superior corrosion resistance – making it a particularly popular choice in the construction industry. The alloy is highly malleable and ductile and can easily be machined into complex shapes, making it perfect for long-term use in any environment. Its superior corrosion resistance qualities are especially beneficial in areas where exposure to sea air or acid rain could cause rusting problems or other related damages. Copper alloy C715 is a reliable and durable material that sets itself apart from the rest when it comes to corrosion resistance.
