Aluminum Brass Tube ASTM B111

C68700 Copper Alloy Steel Seamless Tube

Alloy Aluminum Brass Tube

ALUMINUM BRASS TUBE ASTM B111 / ASME SB111 C68700 COPPER ALLOY

Overview

C68700 tubes, also known as Aluminum Brass tubes, are made from a copper-zinc alloy with a small addition of aluminum. These tubes offer excellent corrosion resistance, good thermal conductivity, and high strength. It is important to consult with engineers or industry professionals to determine the most suitable tube material, size, and configuration for your specific application. They can provide guidance on optimizing heat transfer, selecting the appropriate tube design, and ensuring compatibility with the overall system requirements.

C68700 is a Copper Zinc Alloy containing Aluminum and small amount of Arsenic which is added as an inhibitor against dezincification. Inhibited Aluminum brass resists the action of high velocity salt and brackish water and is commonly used for condensor tubes. The outstanding characteristics of aluminum brass is the high resistance to impingement attack. Tubes of this alloy are recommended for use in marine and land power stations where cooling water velocities are high and where inhibited admiralty brass has failed from impingement.

Advantages of Copper Alloy Tube

The superior qualities of brass tube / copper nickel / aluminium tube make them the ideal products in a vast range of commercial, industrial and domestic applications. In addition to its well known traditional properties, electrical and thermal conductivity, malleability and resistance to corrosion – brass is far more versatile in combining with other metals to provide performance characteristics needed to satisfy today’s increasingly complex demands. To meet the exact specifications of our customers, Austral Wright Metals sources, stocks and supplies products from leading copper and brass mills around the world.
