What is monel 400?
Monel400 alloy (UNS NO4400 or MCu-28-1.5-1.8 or Ni68Cu28Fe) is a nickel-based alloy material with good corrosion resistance in seawaterļ¼ chemical solventsļ¼ ammoniaļ¼ sulfurļ¼ chlorineļ¼ hydrogen chlorideļ¼ and a variety of acidic mediumsļ¼ such as sulfuric acidļ¼ hydrofluoric acidļ¼ hydrochloric acidļ¼ phosphoric acidļ¼ organic acidsļ¼ alkaline mediumsļ¼ salts and molten salts. This alloy has a strongļ¼ corrosion-resistant comprehensive performanceļ¼ widely used in chemical and other industries. For exampleļ¼ it is used in the manufacture of heatersļ¼ heat exchangersļ¼ evaporatorsļ¼ distillation kettlesļ¼ distillation towersļ¼ condensers for fatty acid treatmentļ¼ equipment for the treatment of rosin-tinged acidļ¼ chemical pumps and so on. As the alloy also has high strength and good oxidation resistance at high temperaturesļ¼ it can also be used in the heat treatment industryļ¼ manufacturing a variety of structural components. In the nuclear power industryļ¼ the alloy has good corrosion resistance to high temperature and high pressure water.
Cold rolling is a plastic deformation processļ¼ which is characterized by high dimensional accuracyļ¼ internal surface finishļ¼ and has high mechanical properties.LG60 in the rolling of Monel400ļ¼ the surface of the pipe locally appeared spiral defectsļ¼ resulting in reduced productivityļ¼ yield reductionļ¼ to the latter order of pipe rolling also brought about a negative impact. Thereforeļ¼ it is necessary to increase the grinding process to eliminate the defect.
