Overview

Stainless steel coil is a kind of coil or mosquito bend, its diameter φ16-φ25mm, its thickness is δ0.8-2.0mm, because of its high temperature resistance, anti-scaling, anti-oxidation corrosion, long service life and other characteristics, and is widely used in chemical, mechanical, electronic, electric power, textile, rubber, food, medical equipment, communications, petroleum and other industrial fields.

 

Stainless steel bright coil can be used in medical products. Type 316 is more resistant to atmospheric and other mild environments than Type 304. It is resistant to dilute solutions (i.e. 1-5%) of sulfuric acid up to 120°F. However, in some oxidizing acids, type 316 is less resistant than type 304.

 

316 is prone to carbide precipitation when exposed to a temperature range of 800° -1500 °F, and is therefore prone to intergranular corrosion in the welded state. Annealing after welding will restore corrosion resistance.

 

Type 316L has the same composition as type 316, except that the carbon content is controlled below 0.03%. Unsurprisingly, its general corrosion resistance and other properties correspond closely to Type 316. However, it does provide immunity to intergranular erosion from short-term exposure in the welded state or in the temperature range of 800°-1500°F. When exposure in the range of carbide precipitation is unavoidable and annealing after welding is not feasible, 316L is recommended. However, long-term exposure in this range may render the material brittle and make it vulnerable to intergranular erosion.

The maximum anti-scaling temperature is about 1650°F in continuous use and 1500°F in intermittent use.
