ASTM B111 / ASME SB111 UNS C71500 with Aluminum Fins Copper Nickel Alloy Bimetallic Finned Tube
A copper-aluminum composite finned tube, also known as a bimetallic finned tube, is a type of heat exchanger tube that is constructed by bonding copper and aluminum materials together. It is designed to enhance heat transfer efficiency in various heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) systems.
Copper-aluminum composite finned tubes consist of an inner tube made of copper and outer fins made of aluminum. The fins are tightly bonded to the copper tube by using advanced bonding technologies such as explosion bonding or roll bonding. The copper tube provides good thermal conductivity, while the aluminum fins enhance heat transfer by increasing the surface area.

Copper Nickel tubes, CUNI 70/30 – C71500 – the best resistance of any of the copper alloys to impingement attack and to corrosion from most acids and waters. It is being used in severe corrosive conditions in which service lives longer than those of other copper alloys are desired.
A good finned tube can be made by the strict conditions such as copper density, grain size and hardness.
The heat transfer ratio of this high finned tube is about 8~9 times higher than other plain copper tube.
