ASTM A312 TP304 1.4301 S30400 Stainless Steel For Petrochemical Industry

 

ASTM A312 TP304 Stainless Steel is the most widely used stainless steel on the market and these grades are austenitic chromium alloy, also known as "18/8" stainless steel, because the composition of this steel is 18% chromium and 8% nickel. ASTM A312 TP304 is an austenitic alloy grade designed with a superior composition of nickel and chromium. ASTM A312 TP304 stainless steel has excellent resistance against corrosive and oxidative media across stress-induced environments. It also has outstanding mechanical properties.

 

SS304, is also referred to as 18/8 or SUS304 or UNS S30400. Compared to most carbon steels, the thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity of this alloy steel are lower. Yet the corrosion resistance properties of SS304 stainless steel pipe tends to be higher in comparison to carbon steels due to the addition of chromium and nickel. The addition of Nickel also imparts the alloy with many characteristics. For instance, the yield strength, resistance to oxidation, and impact strength or hardness properties of ASTM A312 TP304 stainless steel pipe have a significant increase, in comparison to carbon steels at both low temperatures and elevated temperatures. The resistance to oxidation is further improved by high content of chromium in SS304, due to the formation of a passivated oxide layer.
